Hello, my name is Clare! I picked up crochet during my University break in late 2013 and started 53stitches pretty shortly after.

I was inspired to start crocheting after I saw some amazing Nightwing dolls on Tumblr. Now that I’m more familiar with the craft I realise they were actually knitted dolls, but my searching at the time to find out what they were led me to crochet and amigurumi! I made my first little crocheted monkey a couple of weeks later (inside out and in the front loop only, but we’ve all got to start somewhere right). I was hooked for good.

I now create my own crochet patterns to give back to the community that was so welcoming and generous when I started out. Most of my works are pop-culture inspired amigurumi, but I’m trying to stretch and pick up some new skills in the coming months!
