I was taught to knit by my grandmother when I was 10. I made a garter stitch square, put down the needles, and promptly forgot everything I had just learned. I picked up the needles again in 1983, using the McCall’s “Needlework Treasury” as my guide. No YouTube then!
Now I knit constantly. I like challenging myself with intricate projects, and rarely knit from a pattern without modifying it.
In my other life, I am a farmer (commercial cow/calf) and mother.
