When I was a child my Grandmother was always crocheting doilies. I was fascinated by the beautiful lace she created and at the age of 5 she taught me how to read patterns and create that same lace with my tiny hands.

I have always been interested in fashion and design. I was creating jewelry in my early teens. As a young adult I ran my own clothing and costume design business. I’ve designed and created numerous wedding dresses.

I’ve been knitting since about 1996 and have incorporated my own design sensibility into my knitting. So much so, that I have now moved into designing under my own label, MinnesotaSticks.
