Ellie Crawford-Cripps

my mother and grandmothers on both sides of my family were avid knitters. If only I could make sweaters like the ones they made!

I still pester my mommy to help me with knitting sometimes, and have “borrowed” an enormous knitting needle collection from her.

My mom taught me to knit in 1st grade or so (I can’t actually remember not knowing how to knit), and I went to the Upper Valley Waldorf school, where all the kids are taught to knit and crochet! I made my first pair of socks there with encouragement and help from my “handwork teachers”. I also learned how to felt at the Waldorf school.

I knit while watching movies, listening to music, or my favorite: listening to Audiobooks.

One of my favorite new discoveries is how to cable without cable needles.
I love Celtic designs, and anything with cable or fair-isle patterns.
