Emily-Jane
I have been designing and knitting my own patterns since I began knitting seriously twenty years ago. Partly this is just the way I was taught to knit -- determine the shape and size you want, knit your gauge, do a bunch of math -- but I think now that I’m more experienced as a knitter, the urge to modify patterns heavily, or design my own stems from my impatience with pre-existing patterns not being absolutely exactly what I want. It might also be because I’m obsessed with trying to make garments that fit completely perfectly. Sometimes I succeed; sometimes I fail!
Since I’m pretty much an amateur, I’d appreciate it if you let me know if you spot any errors in my patterns, and of course I’d be happy to try to answer any questions you have about my designs.
