My Polish grandmother taught me how to knit (continental) when I was in third grade. She had been trying to teach my sister, but my sister gave up when my grandmother specified how to wind a ball (she skipped straight to the knitting with me). Everything else I’ve pretty much learned as I came to it in a pattern!
