Jean Hay Penny
I love designing multi-colour knitwear, playing with different colourways to create rich textures and patterns for generous-size luxurious garments in quality yarns.
I work my designs in the traditional fairisle / stranded colourwork technique - with two colours knitted into each row, the colours alternately carried behind the work. This creates a soft double-layer fabric with excellent insulation qualities.
However I am not a traditional knitter - as you will have appreciated from my designs - so you will find that my patterns do not necessarily follow the “norms” to which you are accustomed!
