Joan Janes
Knitting fascinates me because there is something to learn with every project. I’m a knitting fanatic.
Since I discovered online knitting groups (and tons of inspiration) in the late ‘90’s, I’ve taken as many knitting classes as possible, read (and bought!) as many books and magazines as possible and taken correspondence courses.
While living in South Dakota, I completed the Basics course, the Finishing Course and the 3 levels of the Master Knitting Program with TKGA. Afterwards, I marked the work of other knitters and served as CO-Chair on the committee. A great way to learn! I am also a certified Instructor and Teacher with CYCA - Craft Yarn Council of America.
I moved back to my hometown after 28 years in five other cities …and it’s great to be back. When our local yarn shop closed in 2008, I knew that I had to open Little Red Mitten. It had been a dream for many years.
Now, I love teaching classes, helping to solve problems and seeing the creations and progress of other knitters …and I knit in every spare moment :)
