I learned to knit on two pick-up sticks when I was about 6, with a ball of light blue yarn that , for some reason, was always around, and I just took to it. Now, all of these years later, knitting takes up a big part of my thinking! The life changing moment came when I decided that I could justify knitting anything I wanted as long as I wore it, or else it was just an exercise in expense and busi-ness. So, now I am much more discriminating about what I make and a much, much better knitter! Naturally, I have too much yarn. I’m better now about buying it, forcing myself only to buy new yarn for a specific project that absolutely NOTHING in my stash will handle. It could happen! I like knitting for dolls now, because, Lord knows I don’t need any more clothes, and, while I enjoy socks, I have plenty of hand-mades for now. But doll clothes are like socks. Small projects that use up smaller quantities of yarn, and … you only need to make one!
