I am a mature student in the final weeks of my BA in Creative Writing, my life is controlled chaos and I haven’t had a day off since the semester began on January 9th. My husband, who is my tech support, is working 12 hour days, also without a day off. Life is kinda crazy right now. When the rest of the economy nose-dived, my husband lost his job and my career as a private knitting teacher vanished overnight. I went from being booked six weeks in advance for private lessons to a small hand-full of students. So I took a good look around me, pulled up my socks (hand-knitted, of course), loaded DH in the car and at 50 and 57 years of age, respectively, we went back to college. Now I’m chipping away towards an BA in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Ironically, my writing classes keep me so busy that I never have time to update my blogs. I still carry a sock-in-progress in my purse for those moments when I’m waiting in line somewhere, and knit larger projects when I can. And I still have lustful thoughts about yarn every 18 seconds.
