My accomplishments in knitting so far include being the editor-in-chief of the Finnish online knitting magazine Ulla and having the first Finnish knitting blog (started in late March 2003). I work as a technical writer and live in Espoo, Finland with five hairy males of which four are cats (two half Cornish Rex, half domestic shorthair mixes and two domestic longhairs) and one is an engineer (telecom and computer sciences).
I started knitting actively in 1992 and designed my own patterns from the very start. I started with a fairisle sweater and made it up as I went, when I got bored with one pattern I changed to another and so on. Nobody told me stranded knitting was difficult! I just did it, and that’s what I have been practising ever since.
Nobody told me that starting a knitting ezine and being the editor-in-chief is difficult either! So I did that as well. Unfortunately putting the issues together takes time away from actually writing down my own patterns but as you can see here in Ravelry, Ulla has so much to offer that it doesn’t actually matter.
