Melinda Miller
As a young girl, I remember my great-grandmother crocheting every time I visited. She’s been gone since my childhood. She crocheted all the females in my family each a beautiful southern belle bed doll which I still have & cherish. I also inherited many of her crochet doilies - such beautiful work. See my Great-Grandma’s Doilies. She inspired me to learn to crochet.
When I was pregnant with my first son, I taught myself to crochet from a book. My very first project was his baptism jacket & booties. My other two sons wore them also. Even after a house fire years ago, I still have the smoke stained jacket.
