I have been knitting since 2020, sewing and designing sewing patterns since 2002, and designed my very first knitting pattern in 2024! As a lifelong crafter and the child of engineers, I have always wanted to learn to design my own knitting patterns.

My first pattern (out January 2025) is the Emmy Sweater. The sweater itself is quite fun to knit and wear, but the real reason I designed it was to explore an idea I had around creating custom patterns for each knitter’s size and gauge. Emmy’s Custom Size Tool is in its infancy and currently living in a Google Sheet (functional, but not pretty!), with the intention to port it into a web app this coming year if the concept resonates with knitters at all.
