I have always loved wool. The colors, the feel of it and doing needlework has always enchanted me. It is mesmerizing. I did a lot of needlepoint back in the 70’s and 80’s and even designed my own charts based on Chinese and Japanese art.

I learned to knit as a teenager from a favored aunt. (Doesn’t everybody learn to knit in youth) I used to go to a yarn shop and sit with the ladies as they cleaned up the mess that the customers brought in and marvelled when they put it all straight. They were so patient.

I took up knitting again when I retired but had to give it up about 10 years ago because of carpal tunnel syndrome. Too much of a good thing can be devastating. But then I came back to it beginning with socks, then shawls and now GARMENTS!

I like to improvise with knitting.
