I grew up in Seattle and got my bachelor’s degree in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Washington. I moved out to the DC area to take a job for the federal government aaaaand they broke me. I’m now a stay-at-home mom with a wonderful 6-year-old son with special needs and a husband I love dearly. Two orange Maine Coon cats and two red and white piebald long haired miniature dachshunds round out the household.

My grandma taught me how to crochet and knit when I was young, which I promptly forgot and never used. As an adult, maybe in 2004 or so, I decided I wanted to learn both again and picked up books and taught myself. And because I didn’t have enough hobbies, I taught myself to spin after buying a second-hand wheel in about 2010. Now I’m an obsessive knitter and spinner. I particularly enjoy knitting socks and lace, though I’ve gotten on a sweater kick this last year (2015). And supported spinning is super fun so I can spin stupid fine yarns for my lace knitting addiction.
