Rebecca Prosser

After losing the ability to pursue work and play due to a totally disabling neck and should injury in 2003, I jumped at the chance to learn something new when my friend’s mom offered to teach me to knit.

It was very slow going at first, both because I was certain (rightly or wrongly) that my own creations would be wore stylish than the limited patterns I found at my LYS, and because I had to practice mindful knitting wherein I kept my neck, shoulders, and upper arms relaxed the entire time.

Though I made a bit of a hash of my first sweater, with the armholes too high and the neck opening not quite wide enough to squeeze my head through, the sense of accomplishment I felt was a much needed balm at a time when I was in constant pain and still physically dependent on others.

I’ve come a long way since that first sweater. Though my life looks completely different than it did before the injury, I’m almost entirely physically independent and the sweaters I design for myself fit perfectly.

Now I can’t imagine a life without knitting, and I’m thrilled to be able to share my patterns with you!

Thank you for checking out my patterns!

If you see a pattern you like, but can not afford, please pm me! Though pattern sales are an important income for me, I understand that the cost of patterns is a luxury some people can not afford.
