Sam Rose is the creator and driving force behind Calamity Designs. Using her love of fashion, of staying warm, and of fiber, she creates not only stylish and approachable knitting patterns, but also one-of-a-kind custom pieces for her line.

In her “free” time, Sam enjoys spending time with her husband Dave, who is infinitely patient with the living room re-appropriated as a yarn studio, watching movies, hanging out with friends, cooking, attending the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, gardening, and wrangling her 2 naughty canine children, Hattie and LaLa.
