In the fall of 2016 I, like many liberals who live on the coast, was self-diagnosed with ‘Campaign Anxiety’. Which was compounded by ‘Transition Anxiety’. By the end of 2017 it had developed into full-blown ‘Administration Anxiety’. While the prospect of retreating to my private enclave with a venti latte and taking the next four years to recover sounded appealing, it was not practical. Instead, I took up knitting, which helped alleviate the stress caused by the barrage of breaking news alerts and the ever present threat of a constitutional crisis.
So, if you’re part of the 50% of Americans who are looking for ways to cope with the negative political environment, knit a square and tweet me in the morning.
