Hi! My name’s Tess.

I live just outside Philadelphia with my partner and our three beautiful cats. I started knitting when I was 15, and eventually found my way to crochet, macramé and weaving. I’m passionate about art, yarn, teaching, animal welfare and old houses.

Petunia Knits was started way back in 2009 as an Etsy shop where I sold fingerless gloves. The choice to sell children’s hats started in Spring 2021 when my co-teacher and I made hats as end-of-year gifts for our first grade class. Making the hats restored my love for crochet and knitting, and so I decided to reinvent Petunia Knits as a destination for handmade crochet goods.
