Thursday Tip: Use #ravelry to add photos from Instagram

1. Link your Instagram account
Right now, the only way to do this is to go to any project or stash page on Ravelry, then click "Upload from Instagram" tab under "photos". If you've ever added a photo to Rav from Instagram, you've already done this. Here are more detailed instructions.
2. Add a photo to Instagram and add #ravelry in the caption.
3. After you post it, log in to Ravelry and you will see that you have a new message.

Tip: Use #ravelry to Add Photos from Instagram

Uploading to Projects and Stash from Your Mobile Device

Go to your notebook tab and click either projects or stash. Then choose the “add project” or “add stash” button. You will then be guided through the process of adding the item. Once you add the basic information, you’ll be brought to the main edit page. You can add more details there and click the “add photos” tab to add photos. Then, follow the instructions above for adding photos.

How do I upload a photo?
There are a few different places that you might want to add a photo, including your profile, project and stash areas. You can find full instructions for adding photos in the wiki. You may not be able to add photos to a pattern page. Those are most commonly added by designers, publishers or sooper editors for copyright reasons.

Tip: Making Gifts for Ravelers
… that part after the project has been given to the recipient to keep it anonymous. You can also keep your notes somewhere outside of Ravelry when making the project and add them in at the end. Additionally, you can still add photos to your project page, but maybe just show small portions of the project, rather than showing the entire project if you think your recipient may come across the page.

Stash Building Overview - classic Ravelry pre-2021

Now that you are added as a designer and “own” the pattern page(s) for your design(s) in Ravelry, you can add to/change the pics that appear on the pattern page. As a designer, you do not have to use Flickr to add pics to your pattern in Ravelry.
