伸縮性の高い「さざなみステッチ」で作るかぎ針編みのセーターです。決められたゲージやサイズにあわせて作るのではなく、使いたい糸と作りたいサイズにあわせて自由にアレンジができます。編みながら糸とサイズにあわせて簡単な計算をする必要がありますので、パターンはワークブック形式になっています。

さざなみステッチは最初、少し編みにくく感じるかもしれません。ステッチの編み方やサイズ感を調整しながら編むということに不安がある場合は、無料パターン「さざなみソックス」で練習してみるのがおすすめです。

セーターは後ろ中心から始め、右利きの場合、右後ろ身頃→右袖→前身頃→左袖→左後ろ身頃の順にサイドウェイで編んでいきます。編みおわりまで一度も糸を切らずに編めるシームレスなパターンです。

今回は作例として5つのセーターを紹介しています。これはアレンジのほんの一部です。作り目を前身頃に持ってきてカーディガンにしたり、身頃をずっと長くしてドレスにしたり、前・後ろ身頃の身幅を変えてバストサイズを調節したりすることもできます。いろいろ試してお楽しみください。

Sazanami Sweater aka Ripple Pull is …
Sazanami Sweater is a crocheted sweater with very stretchy fabric. We can call it “Ripple Pull” for Sazanami means Ripple in Japanese.

You don’t have to match gauge. This pattern is not only size-inclusive, but also yarn- inclusive. You start by making a swatch the use its measurement to calculate the number of repeats and rows. Then we use basic calculation to know stitch and row numbers for your size. To make these process easier, I have designed the pattern in a workbook style.

Maybe you feel not comfortable with Ripple stitch in this pattern at first. If so, Sazanami Socks free pattern will be a good practice.

There are 5 samples sweaters in this workbook. They are a small part of all possibilities of this pattern. You can modify the length and width of neck, body and sleeves. Maybe you want to make a cardigan or dress instead of a pullover. Try and enjoy many mods!

Materials and Tools
Materials
You can use any weight of yarn for any sized sweater. Approx 650g of yarn will be enough to make high-necked sweater with long sleeves for Japanese M size (model height is 162cm tall: it is much similar to S size for other regions. )

Tools
Crochet hook: 2 or 3 size bigger than the yarn suggestions: e.g. 3.5 mm hook for Fingering, 4.0 mm for DK, 6.0 mm for Worsted.
