About

TRACE is a one piece rectangular scarf, worked from one long side to the other. The motif of Trace takes inspiration from my daily life, capturing the lingering aftereffects of music, traffic sounds, and the words we read each day. All the experiences can be transformed to interesting geometric shapes.

The repeating motif in the main body creates a sense of continuity and flow, tying together different ideas and themes with unique color combinations. Slip stitches and garter stitches are used to create a soft and playful texture in the main body.

The sample was knit using double strands of lace yarn and 3.5 mm needles. You can use fingering weight yarn for this scarf as well. Choose your three favorite colors and create your own Trace scarf: a cozy accessory that captures the beauty and complexity of the world around us in a fun and stylish way.

Sample used Rot & Weiss Plateau (490m,536 yards/50g, 95% Extra fine merino, 5% cashmere),
color: graphite, shadow, silver, 2 skeins each, knit with 2 strands

You can use laceweight-held double, or any fingering/SOCK weight yarn for this shawl
You will need 3 colors, around 700 m(766 yards) each if using lace weight held double strands, 380 m(416 yards) each if using fingering/SOCK weight.

3.5 mm (US 5) 100 cm/32” circular needles.

痕跡為 2023 編織派對作品，英文 TRACE，作為名詞，有 ( 學習或記憶的 )痕跡、壓印出的紋路或是雙足踏出小路的意思。而我們棒針編織，即是用 2 支棒針與線，透過顏色一針針堆疊出圖像。

2023 也是阿雪踏入編織世界的第 10 年，在這個作品中，我想回歸編織最單純的基本針法 - 下針與上針，以不同顏色交錯，構築出對於編織的記憶。

痕跡披肩整體為長方形，以雙股細線與 3.5mm 棒針平織，加上滑針與起伏針法，讓整體有一種蓬鬆的手感。透過主配色交錯、互換的重複排列圖樣，構成整個作品的樣貌。在配色上，利用滑針的技巧，因此一次只需要操作一個顏色。示範作品使用由美麗諾與喀什米爾混紡的高原編織，線材輕盈細緻的質地，讓痕跡輕巧溫暖，適合做為圍巾，或是披肩使用。

尺寸有長版 ( 短版 )，2 種長度。選取 3 種喜歡的顏色，一起來創造屬於自己的痕跡吧！

示範作品使用阿紅與阿雪 - 高原（95% 美麗諾羔羊毛、5% 喀什米爾；490 公尺 /50 克 )。
顏色 1：銀幣，拉雙股編織，2 絞。
顏色 2：石墨，拉雙股編織，2 絞。
顏色 3：影，拉雙股編織，2 絞。

或是選用規格 245 公尺 /50 克的線材，3 色各 2 顆，單股編織。
