MATERIALS AND TOOLS
- any smooth yarn which is not very stretchy. I use Vita Brilliant Print and Vita Brilliant (45% wool, 55% acrylic, 380 m/100 g). It is a wonderful yarn with a rich colour range. It feels like silk when touching. The main colour I use is multicolour (2604) and green (4981). You will need about 1.5 skeins of multicolour yarn and about half a skein of solid yarn.
- You will also need Cotton Embroidery floss or Iris yarn or any other cotton yarn to make eyes and teeth. I use Vita Pelican yarn (100% mercerized cotton, 330 m/50 g) of the white colour (3951). However, you can make the eyes and teeth with polymer clay.
- You will also need Cotton Embroidery floss or Iris yarn or any other cotton yarn to make the light bulb. I use Vita Pelican yarn (100% mercerized cotton; 330 m/50 g) of the following colours: yellow (3998), silver-grey (3965) and black (3952). You will need just leftovers of this yarn.
- You can buy a light bulb on Aliexpress. I recommend ordering two light bulbs in case one is broken. Here is the link to the bulb http://bit.ly/2bulbsOnAli
- Stuffing polyester.
- 1.0-1.5 mm copper wire - approx. 6 m. You can buy this wire in a craft shop, but I suggest buying it in an electronic goods store. There you can buy a 31.5 cord. Before buying the cord, make sure that the wire inside it is whole and does not consist of several thin wires. With a paper-knife, remove the insulation. The cable inside consists of three copper wire cords, so having bought just a meter of cord you will have three meters of copper wire.
- White fabric plaster or insulation tape.
- Toy eyes or beads or semi beads to make eyes. You will need 2 items. The size of eyes is 12 mm, they can be bigger or smaller depending on the eye sockets.
- Transparent glue (if you want to glue the eyes on instead of sewing them on).
- Beads to adorn your fish. I use 10/0 beads Flame Dark Topaz by Preciosa (Czech Republic) and 6/0 beads Flame Turquoise by Preciosa (Czech Republic). You will also need nylon thread and a needle to sew the beads on.
TOOLS:
- 1.5 mm crochet hook. Attention: choose the size of the hooks according to the yarn you use or your manner to crochet.
- Wirecutter.
- Scissors
- Sewing needle.
