Every best friend needs a sweater for the cool days. This cardigan knits up fast, using US size 3 needles, baby weight yarn and finishes with 8 buttons. Front and back are knitted as one piece, and only need shoulder seams sewn. Sleeves are knit flat, set in, knitted separately, and have underarm seams. Collar is ribbed, and knit right onto the finished sweater.

Sweater will fit the cloth bodied 18” dolls like American Girl, Madame Alexander, Springfield, Fibercraft, Our Generation, Journey Girls, Gotz, and other similar sized dolls.

Basic knitting know-how is helpful. This pattern is not for a beginning knitter, who has never knit before.
I used one skein of a baby yarn (50 gms/1.75 yds) in a single color. This was plenty of yarn. Single pointed needles in a size 3 were used for the entire sweater.
