This sweater is another fun project to knit. It is done with worsted weight yarn, on size 8 needles and uses a 16” circular needle for the most of the body. The sleeves and collar use a set of 4 double pointed needles.

Front and back are knitted as one piece, up to the armholes. Then back and forth to the neck. Shoulder seams are sewn. The sleeves are picked up and knit onto the finished sweater. Finally the seamless collar is knit onto the neck, with double pointed needles-(worked in the round).

You be pleased with the way this one knits up! The only sewing in this sweater is the 2 shoulder seams! This pattern features written directions for most of the sweater, and easy to follow charts for the color knitting parts.

It would be best if you have some knitting experience before you try this pattern, although it is a very easy pattern to knit. It does need a bit of a comfort level with knitting and tension, so that when you add the second color yarn, you can concentrate on handling the yarn without worrying about the basic knitting skills. If you haven’t tried knitting with 2 colors, this is another great way to try it!

if you want a summer version, you could knit it in pastels, and omit the sleeves as they are added on after the shoulder seams, or you could even just work 1/2” of sleeve and bind off.

Sweater will fit American Girl, Madame Alexander, Our Generation, Journey Girls, Fibercraft, Springfield, Lizzi, and other 18” dolls of a similar size and build.
