Bristol Ivy uses a subtle twist to set apart her asymmetrical shawl. Knit in luminous Extra, a plump alpaca/merino blend from Blue Sky Fibers, it’s worked from a garter tab placed at the bottom point—rather than the traditional center top—with side and center increases creating the generous winged shape. Offset shaping begun midway creates a bias-knit fabric, angling the pattern bands of garter, stockinette and lacy broderie anglaise. Garter-stitch borders trim the edges.
