#08 Counterpane inspired Shawl
The elegance of van Dillen’s statement shawl, lavishly sized for an afternoon seaside ramble, belies its simplicity. The counterpane-inspired piece is constructed of six squares (knit in the round) and four triangles (knit back and forth) joined with a three-needle bind off along adjacent sides. The long fringe attached at finishing is a breezy companion to the sun-bleached pink of Universal Yarns’ cotton/linen Good Earth—the most sought-after color of the season.
