This basic hat pattern is the perfect beginner’s first hat. It is very quick to make and is perfect for a last minute gift or for charity.

Hook- Size I/9- 5.50 mm (or Size H/8 – 5.00 mm for toddler/child size beanie)

Yarn- Red Heart “Soft”, Caron Simply Soft or any SOFT worsted weight yarn (1 skein is enough for 2-4 hats, depending on size or size of skein)

Note: If the diameter is NOT what it should be at the points noted below, you might be crocheting too tight and may need to loosen up or use a larger hook until you achieve the diameter sizes listed below. Do not change hook during project. Just start over using a bigger hook, if needed.

Gauge- 1st 2 rnds = 2.5” in diameter

All sizes included.
