Pattern description from Knit.1, Fall 2007: “Knit goggles intarsia-style right into your hat and you’ll never have to worry about leaving them behind. Share ross stitched the earflaps (which winnow down to I0cords) separately, then attached them. Ditto the tie-ending and cap-topping pompoms. Work it all in Lion Brand Yarn’s ‘Lion Wool.’”

Stuff:

• 1 (2, 2) skeins in #99 Winter White of Lion Wool by Lion Brand Yarn, 3oz/85g skeins, each approx 158yd/144m (acrylic/wool)
• 1 ball each in #113 Scarlet, #149 Pearl Grey and #153 Ebony
• One pair each size 6 and 7 (4 and 4.5mm) needles or size to get the gauge
• Two size 6 (4mm) double-pointed needles (dpns)
• Cardboard for pompon template
