100 Gram DK Legwarmers
This pattern is made to use the most of 1 skein (100g) of yarn. I use DK yarn (245 yds), but there are notes in the pattern about how to adjust for other sizes or yardage.
This pattern is also meant to be a good fit for hand dyed yarn, especially variegated colorways, with lots of color transitions. The use of textured stitches is meant to highlight the beauty of hand dyed yarn, without becoming busy or confused by the colors.
I highly advise using a kitchen scale to split your hank of yarn into two equal halves before beginning, to be sure you can get two equal legwarmers even if you adjust the stitch counts or yardage. I used almost every foot of my 245 yards, because there is a section of the pattern meant to repeat for as long as you can go. No wasting that expensive, lovely hank of yarn!
Finished dimensions of the written version are 11.5 inches long and 6.5 inches wide, with elastic hems that have a 2 inch stretch. The elasticity of the stitches makes for a comfy fit, but the hems can be made wider by using pattern notes.
