100. Princess Party Dress
Instructions for a really pretty party dress fit for a princess. The set comprises of a puff-sleeved layered dress, headband and Mary Jane shoes. This is actually quite an easy knit compared to how intricate it looks, but there is just one fiddly row on both the back and the front of the dress to join the frills.
You will need:
15-16” or 37.5-40cm Height (Approx 2.5-4lb Prem) Size
200g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 150g contrast colour, 2m x ribbon, embellishments of your choice, 2 x stitch holders, 2 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
16-17” or 40-42.5cm Height (Approx 3-5lb Prem) Size
200g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 150g contrast colour, 2m x ribbon, embellishments of your choice, 2 x stitch holders, 2 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
18-19” or 45-47.5cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size
200g 4ply yarn in main colour A, 150g contrast colour, 2m x ribbon, embellishments of your choice, 2 x stitch holders, 2 x pr 3.75mm needles, OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
20-21” or 50-52.5cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size
250g dk yarn in main colour A, 150g contrast colour, 2m x ribbon, embellishments of your choice, 2 x stitch holders, 2 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
22” or 55cm Height (0-3 Months) Size
250g dk yarn in main colour A, 150g contrast colour, 2m x ribbon, embellishments of your choice, 2 x stitch holders, 2 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
24” + or 61cm Height (3-6 Months) Size
250g dk yarn in main colour A, 200g contrast colour, 2m x ribbon, embellishments of your choice, 2 x stitch holders, 2 x pr 4.5mm needles making a tension of 20sts and 27 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
I’ve used James C Brett’s Baby Twinkle in shade BT09, and Cygnet Glittery DK in shade 543. Bows are by Dottie’s Dainty Bows
This pattern has been designed by myself so it is in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format. There are 8 printed pages with clear and easy to follow instructions. All my patterns are tested by independent knitters before they are released, so every effort is made so that they come to you error-free.
