103. Strappy Vest
Instructions for a girl’s super cute but simple strappy vest set. The set comprises of a vest with thin straps on the shoulders, but which fastens at the crotch with 3 buttons. There is a matching pair of turban style sandals, as well as a headband, and is ideal for the warmer weather. You can make it in a range of sizes starting from newborn through to 6-9 months.
This pattern is so versatile. It can be knitted in plain yarn or any variation of variegated self-patterning yarn. you could even add a lace or material skirt to it as shown in the separate photo.
You will need:
19” or 50cm Height (Approx 5-7lb Newborn) Size
50g 4ply yarn in main colour, 50g in contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments, 1 x pr 2.75mm needles making a tension of 30sts and 38 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
22” or 56cm Height (Approx 8-10lb Newborn) Size
50g 4ply yarn in main colour, 50g in contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments, 1 x pr 3.25mm needles making a tension of 28sts and 36 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
24” or 62cm Height (Approx 0-3) Size
50g 4ply yarn in main colour, 50g in contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles. OR use dk yarn and 3.25mm needles making a tension of 26sts and 34 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
27” or 68cm Height (Approx 3-6 Month) Size
100g dk yarn in main colour, 50g in contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments, 1 x pr 3.75mm needles making a tension of 24sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
29” or 74cm Height (Approx 6-9 Months) Size
150g dk yarn in main colour, 50g in contrast colour, 3 buttons, embellishments, 1 x pr 4mm needles making a tension of 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm square over stocking stitch.
This pattern has been designed by myself so it is in UK terminology. It does not follow the usual ‘shop bought’ format. There are 5 printed pages with clear and easy to follow instructions. All my patterns are tested by independent knitters before they are released, so every effort is made so that they come to you error-free.
