11 Shore Vest
Size should be chosen based on your chest measurement. The garment is designed with a small amount of negative ease, about 5cm/ 2”. If an oversized fit is desired, size up one or two sizes.
DESCRIPTION
The 11 Shore Vest is a sleeveless vest that is worked flat, from the bottom up, in a wavy stitch pattern that replicates the organic lines found on beautiful sandy beaches. The garment has 5 cm/2” negative ease at the bust making it perfect to be worn as a single, relaxed, summery layer, or, as it can be layered over dresses and tops creating a modern look perfect for the Autumn months. It can be fastened as a button through or with a single or multiple I-cord ties as desired.
To begin, the garment is cast on using the long tail cast on method and a garter stitch hem is worked in a smaller needle. The body is worked altogether, back and forth in the stitch pattern, straight up to the armholes.
Next, the garment is divided to begin working the Armholes. The Armholes and Neckline are shaped at the same time, while keeping the stitch pattern.
Finally, the shoulders are grafted together and stitches are picked up around the Neckline and Armholes to work a garter stitch binding to match the hem. The desired fastening is worked, and voila! you have completed your 11 Shore Vest garment.
