1:12th scale Girls winter dress set c. 1969
Ability Level: Experienced
Materials required:
Dress - one pair each of the following sizes of knitting needles: size 18 (1.25 mm)/US size 4/0), size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0), size 20 (0.90 mm) and size 21 (0.80 mm); 25 metres/28 yards main colour 1-ply wool; 12.5 metres/14 yards contrast colour 1-ply wool; stitch holders or safety pins.
Note: this dress can be knitted using only two sizes of needle but the A-line of the dress will be lost. The sizes required in this case will be size 19 and 21 needles. Knit the size 18 and 19 parts with size 19 needles and then continue in size 21 instead of size 20 and then size 21. The sleeves and neckband are knitted as in the pattern with size 19 needles.
Panties - size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 12.5 metres/14 yards 1-ply wool, elastic (optional).
Socks - size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 12.5 metres/14 yards 1-ply wool.
Beret - Size 21 (0.80 mm) knitting needles, 12.5 metres/14 yards 1-ply wool
Approximate finished sizes
Dress - 1½-inches/4 cm across hem, 2-inches/5 cm neck to hem
Panties - waist 1-inch/2.5 cm, height 1-inch/2.5 cm
Beret - ¾-inch/2 cm diameter when flat
Socks - 1¼-inches/3 cm tall, ¼-inch/1 cm across at knee
Gauge This is not important as dolls house dolls (like humans) vary in size
