1:12th scale knitting bags
Pattern for two knitting bags with contents designed to go in a dolls house. The plain knitting bag is suitable for a beginner and the other for slightly more experienced beginner/intermediate knitter.
Ability Level - Beginner to Intermediate
NOTE: Ability level relates to ability to knit in miniature, rather than ability to knit generally. If you have not worked in miniature before, start with the sides and base of the plain bag. If you feel confident knitting in this scale, you may wish to add a patterned front and back to the bag.
Materials required:
One pair size 19 (US 00000/1.00 mm) knitting needles, 25 metres 1-ply yarn in main colour; optional yarn requirements for patterned bag - 5 metres 1-ply yarn in contrast colour; 5 metres 1-ply yarn for knitting on needles; oddments of 1-ply yarn approximately 1 metre/39-inches long for balls of yarn; steel dressmaking pins; small safety pin; plastic drinking straw; tapestry needle; paper glue for labels; optional - tacky glue.
Approximate finished size of bag – 3 cm/1¼-inches wide, 0.75 cm/¼-inch deep, 4 cm/1½-inches tall (including handle)
Gauge – Gauge is not important, as dolls house dolls vary greatly in size and shape
