Two yarns become three! The plain garter sections of this infinity scarf are worked with both yarns held together - blending the colours. Between the blended areas, a single-strand of yarn works each lace panel. The combined effect is harmonious but visually interesting. The resulting scarf is light, beautifully soft, and warm. It’s also versatile: wrap it twice for wear under jackets, wrap it thrice for maximum neck snuggliness.

The lace instructions are provided both in chart and written form.

Materials

• Colour A: 0.5 skein of Vintage Purls Lace (100% N.Z. Merino; 909 metres / 994 yards per 100g skein).
• Colour B: 0.5 skein of Vintage Purls Lace (100% N.Z. Merino; 909 metres / 994 yards per 100g skein).
• 3.75mm needles or size that gives you a suitable fabric (see gauge information below). Use a circular needle (60cm is ample) or straights, whichever you prefer.

Gauge
Gauge is not critical. You want a soft, drapey fabric; use a needle size that is larger than you would for a standard gauge in 4ply. This item grows substantially with blocking.
Model gauge:
Unblocked: 32 stitches and 48 rows over 10cm (4”) in garter stitch.
Blocked and allowed to relax for some days: 28 stitches and 34 rows over 10cm (4”) in garter stitch.

The model (after blocking) is approximately 21cm (8 ¼”) wide and 185cm (74”) in circumference and used 74g of yarn in total.
