Man’s or woman’s oversized, circular Norwegian-style pullover with cut-in armholes and gusseted neck detail.
Knitted measurements:
Bust/chest at underarm 40 (43¼, 46¾, 50)“/100 (108.5, 116.5, 125) cm.
Sleeve width at upper arm 17 (17, 20, 20)“/42 (42, 50, 50) cm.
Materials:
12 (13, 13, 14) 1¾ oz/50g balls (each approx 100yd/91m) of Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt in #17 white (A)
4 (5, 5, 6) balls in #10 charcoal (B)
1 ball in #926 red (C
Sizes 5 & 6 (3.75 & 4 mm) circular needles 36”/90 cm
Two size 6 (4mm) circular needles 16”/40mm
1 set (4) dpn size 5 (3 3/4 mm) 7”/18 cm
1 set (4) dpn size 6 (4 mm) 10”/25 cm
Stitch holders and markers
Gauge:
24 sts and 30 rows to 4”/10 cm over lice pattern (rnds 21-25 of chart #1) using size 6 (4mm) needles
24 sts and 28 rows to 4”/10 cm over Fair Isle pats using size 6 (4 mm) needles
Notes:
Body and sleeves of sweater are worked in the round on circular needles. Armholes are cut open and sleeves sewn in later.
The pattern was republished in VK Holiday 2017. While the yarn originally called for (Peer Gynt) is still available it has limited distribution in the U.S. Three colors of Cleckheaton Superfine Merino was suggested as a suitable substitute
