Each of these twelve Christmas ornament patterns works up in a flash, and they make perfect last-minute gifts, stash busters, or just a quick snack of a project when you need a break from finishing all of your big holiday gifts!
What’s more, the simple patterns shine when worked up with self-striping sock yarns in case you have some skeins laying around, but no intention of making any socks! Let the yarn do the work, and whip up a set of coordinating ornaments in no time at all.

Materials
Fingering weight (Size 1) yarn. Each ornament pattern uses between 25 and 50 yards of yarns, depending on size
Hook: Size E (3.5mm)

Stuffing. Good old polyester filler works perfectly here. For a more weighty, heirloom craft feeling you may also consider wool or cotton batting, but if you choose a natural filler, make sure to keep your crafts indoors to discourage mildew in the damp!
A few optional notions for finishing your ornaments:
Ornament Caps. Some craft stores sell these around Christmas to replace the caps on old glass ornaments. I think they make a polished addition to the ornaments.
Ornament hanging wires. Of course, you could also make a loop of yarn or chain stitches to hang your ornaments.
