14-Cable Hat
by ChemKnits
I created this pattern for a specific local yarn. I wanted to experiment with a sampler of cables, and I thought that the combination would make a fun, interesting hat. This is an asymmetric hat with a ribbed brim. There are no repeats in any of the 14 cables (although there might be some slight similarities). I tried to alternate thick and thin cables to give the hat balance.
The charts are available on the page as thumbnails, you will want to open them in a new window to see the full size chart. Please let me know if there are any errors.
See the pattern for a video with a 360 degree rotation of the hat to get a sense of the assymetry.
The yarn used is from an alpaca farm on Martha’s Vineyard.
