The Scoop is a wonderfully practical bag with a sleek, modern silhouette. Simple to make, easy to finish, the bold hardware and different blocking options will put it at the top of your favorite bags list. Simply change the way you fold in the sides or leave it unfolded for a completely different look. This is a bag you will take with you everywhere — you’ll want all three sizes! As with all Noni Bags, you can make this one felted or unfelted.

Pattern Difficulty
Intrepid beginner: requires knowledge of knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches, working in the round on circular needles, and some simple hand-sewing.

Materials

Small Bag

• 750 yards (685m) worsted weight feltable yarn
• 4 JUL Colors bag feet in black
• 1 JUL Cool 24” (60cm) leather handle with tabs in black (HR7-241T)

Medium Bag

• 1235 yards (1129m) of worsted weight feltable yarn
• 4 JUL Colors bag feet in black
• 1 JUL Big Cool 24” (60cm) leather handle with tabs in black
  (HR7L-241T)

Large Bag

• 1700 yards (1555m) of worsted weight feltable yarn
• 6 JUL Colors bag feet in black
• 1 JUL Cool 24” (60cm) leather handle with tabs in black (HR7-241T)

All Bags

• Size 11 (8mm) 24” (60 cm) or 32” (80cm) or longer, according to preference circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
• Stitch markers, 1 in contrasting color for beginning of round Unfelted Bags

To make unfelted bags, use a single strand of worsted weight yarn (or smaller-gauge yarn that when held double is equivalent to worsted weight) and a size 8 (5mm) 24” (60cm) circular needle (or size needed to achieve the “felted” gauge).

If using single strand of worsted weight yarn, use approximately 2/3 the yardage listed above; if using two strands of lighter-weight yarn, use the same yardage as listed above.

• Tapestry needle, sewing needle, & like-color sewing thread
• Metal Noni label and four 2mm seed beads
• 1 sheet 13 5/8 x 21 5/8” (34 x 54cm) plastic stiffener
• 1 - 1 1/2 yard (1 - 1.4m) of lining material according to preference
• Noni Pockets (set of 3)
