The backs of both cardigan and shell are knit in seed stitch.

- To fit Small (Medium, Large)
- Bust 33 (35, 37)“/84 (89, 94)cm
- Waist: 30 (32, 34)“ / 76 (81, 86)cm
- Length: 21¼ (21¾, 22¼)“ / 54 (55.5, 56.5)cm
Materials from Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Knitting Book (2002):
- 4 (5, 5) 1¾oz/50g balls (each approx 187yd/170m) of wool sport yarn in camel
- One pair each sizes 2 and 4 (3 and 3.5mm) needles or size to obtain gauge.
- Cable needle (cn)
Gauges from Vogue Knitting: The Ultimate Knitting Book (2002):
- (in St st) 26 sts and 38 rows = 4”/10cm using larger needles
- (in seed st) 26 sts and 44 rows = 4”/10cm using larger needles
- (in chart pats) 33 sts and 38 rows = 4”/10cm using larger needles
- Take time to check gauges
Note: Front is wider than back.

Worked in an array of traditional Guernsey patterns, the cardigan front is a masterpiece of twisted ribs and sculpted stitches. Underneath, a perfectly fitted shell that picks up the diamond pattern from the cardigan sleeves, reinterpreted as a center front band.
