This pattern recreates the classic 16th century flat cap seen across Europe. Pattern includes source link to photos of an original period cap used as guide for the shape/look of the piece.

The cap is knitted, fulled, and stretched to size, so it is very flexible for any head size. Full by hand or using a washing machine.

Note: Pattern may be knitted on any number of double-pointed needles. I prefer a set of five, but given the large number of stitches, you may want more, or you may want to use a circular needle.
