1:6th scale Channel Islands Guernsey
Designed to fit a 32.5 cm/13-inch tall doll such as Ken, GI Joe, Action Man or other similar teenage/fashion doll
Ability Level: Intermediate
NOTE: This has been classed as intermediate ability due to the tiny needles used. The actual Guernsey is fairly simple to knit. Photos are included to help with the assembly of the pieces.
This pattern has a large size file due to the number of photos included - 12.5 MB
Materials required
One pair of size 1.50 mm knitting needles; 100 metres/108 yards/17 grams No. 10 crochet cotton; 3 stitch holders or safety pins.
Approximate finished size:
Neck to hem - 11 cm/4½-inches; Sleeve length – 9 cm/3½-inches; Width across chest - 7.5 cm/3-inches.
Gauge – 18 rows and 12 stitches = 2.5 cm/1-inch over stocking stockinette stitch
Notes
- This is a long Guernsey worn down over the hips.
- This was traditionally knitted in Navy blue, but red and cream have been popular in recent years.
- Although traditionally made ‘in the round’, when working in this scale it is easier to work the pieces flat and sew them together.
- The underarm gussets may be omitted if desired.
