Pattern Description from Vogue Knitting, Spring/Summer 2010: “Using complementary colorways of heathery ‘Symphony’ from Prism Yarns, Laura Bryant banded this bolero jacket in a Fibonacci-inspired striping sequence, starting from the center-back provisional cast-on and radiating out to he sleeve edges. Mitered shaping curves the garter-stitch front borders.”

Knitted Measurements:
- Sized for X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large
- Width (across back) 15 (16, 18, 20, 22)“/38 (40.5, 45.5, 51, 56)cm
- Length (at center back) 12½ (13, 13½, 14, 14)“/31.5 (33, 34, 35.5, 35.5)cm
- Upper arm 13½ (14, 15, 16, 16¾)“/34 (35.5, 38, 40.5, 42.5)cm
Materials:
- 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) 1¾oz/50g hanks (each approx 118yd/106m) of Prism Symphony (wool/cashmere/nylon) in #310 sage (A)
- 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) balls in #309 plum (B)
- Contrasting worsted weight yarn (scrap yarn)
- Two size 8 (5mm) circular needles, 29”/74cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- One pair size 7 (4.5mm) needles
- Size H/8 (4.5mm) crochet hook (for chain-st provisional cast-on)
- Stitch markers
Gauge:
- 19 sts and 28 rows = 4”/10cm over St st using size 8 (5mm) circular needle.
- TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
Notes:
- Left half of shrug is worked in one piece from provisional cast-on at center back to cuff.
- Right half is worked in the opposite direction from provisional cast-on.
