1745 Shawl
“1745 Shawl”
This shawl has been designed for my monthly Outlander inspired release.
The inspiration given this month was the Jacobites.
I wanted to create a shawl that could have been worn by the Jacobite women as they pick up the labours of work from the men as they dedicate their time to the cause in 1745.
It has been created in aran weight yarn and from the shaping it could be worn in a number of ways. The stitches are simple but effective creating something slightly unusual and warm to wear.
The deisgn is suitable for a knitter who knows the basic stitches, there are no charts to work from and the pattern is written row by row to make it an easy piece to create.
If you wish to wear the shawl in the sontag style you may need to add icord ties to the longer points to enable it to be tied at the back.
