Hello! This is a pattern for a doll skirt that I have had in the back of mind to figure out ever since I was introduces ruffly, netty Starbella yarn. I have often wondered if it couldn’t be easily turned into a doll skirt or crinoline. Well, I finally sat down and figured this out.

The directions are so simple once you get the basic concept of the yarn being set up in links for your yarn overs already. After that it comes together really well.

The skirt can be flipped both ways. With all the crochet on the outside and the ruffles on the inside it can be treated like a crinoline or ballet tutu. When you flip it so the ruffles are all on the outside it looks like a fun party skirt. I have often imagined this also becoming a longer skirt, for which you would need more than one skein of your yarn, or even the underside to one of those fancy open front gowns from ages past. Imagine your doll as a regal queen in Elizabethan garb.

The yarn is interesting to work with and therefore confusing to many. Once you take the concept of the yarn being already set up for your loops or yarn overs, it becomes easier. For this reason I have included many photos with notes all throughout the pattern. The PDF is photo heavy.

I hope you have fun with this one and I look forward to seeing the variations you come up with. Please feel freet to ask any questions. I am always happy for the feedback. Have fun!
