This cozy hat features a chunky cable that resembles a braided cable, but with a bonus cable winding through for extra visual appeal.

It begins with the wide ribbed border, and then transitions into panels of the chunky rib. The panels narrow with shaping at the crown.

Seamless construction and only two balls of the beautifully heathered grey wool yarn are needed. (With other chunky yarns, only 152 yards could make this a one-ball project!)

A classic hat that can be easily jazzed up and modernized if knit in a bright color or color-blocked with one color for the ribbing and another for the rest. This hat is also an easy stash buster, suitable for males and females, young and old.
