This is a translation of an original 1892 knitting pattern from The Art of Knitting. This pattern was originally written for just one size, but I’ve added some instructions on how to customize the pattern to fit you.

This shoulder cape has a lovely drop stitch pattern that looks complicated, but is very simple to knit. The cape fastens at the neck with a ribbon and contains lots of positive ease to allow you to freely move your arms as your wear it.

NOTE: This pattern includes a crochet edge at the top to draw together the cape at the neckline and thread the ribbon.
