1932 Pleated skirt
Passap machine knitting instructions for a pleated skirt for a 5 year old. There is a matching top “in sailor look”.
Three panels are knit in the long stitch pattern which gives the pleat effect. These are seamed together with a stocking stitch waistband.
Materials:
- 9 ozs “fine wool (England 2-ply)” (800m in 100g): navy blue
- waistband stiffening
- 2 hooks and eyes
Test square
In stocking stitch: 100 sts = 33 cm, 100 rows = 26 cm (with yarn held doubled.) For long stitch pattern (yarn worked singly) “no test square is needed.”
Knitting Machines
The stitch sizes given in this model book are for the earlier “Pinkie” Passap. Add an extra half stitch size for the appropriate stitch size for the later DM80 and E6000 machines.
Instructions are also given in this pattern for the Passap Combi.
By following the schematic, this pattern can be adapted for use in other standard gauge knitting machines.
The pattern is pictured p15 of the model book (p16 of the pdf), the instructions are on page 12 of the instruction book (p32 of the pdf).
