From 1936 an old-style bear cub with classic features. Knit in a firm moss stitch, it can also be done in garter or stockinette stitch for a softer toy. The bear is roughly 9” high and originally done in brown with black foot pads.

I used some blue acrylic baby yarn in garter stitch and the bear turned out roughly 10” tall and 12” from nose to tail. How you stuff and eye placement greatly affects the appearance, as you can see in the photos. The original was done in moss stitch and is a firmer toy. Mine in garter stitch does stand on its own though:)
